3 inches of blood

I drew blood at 3 inches of blood show tonight. (slammed by a mosher) It was a great show. I found metal and now there's no stopping me.

Wilco

Saw Wilco last night in Colorado Springs. Ever been to a show and all you can remember is how it smelled like someone shit their pants during the entire show? I can now say I have. I'd never seen Wilco live and was really excited to see them. They put on a great show. Complete with two encores with 4 songs apiece. The sound was pretty good and the band was as tight as I've ever heard. But the crowd...the crowd was a different story. I don't know what people are thinking when they go to a rock show but people cannot let loose here in CSprings. Even Jeff Tweedy said "Jesus! have you never been to a rock show, for the love of God!" The crowd was horrible. Farting, making out with their girlfriends, drinking water, didn't know when to clap, didn't know when to quiet down, didn't know when to get loud. It was pathetic. I just had fun and tried to ignore everyone around me. Go see Wilco if they are coming to your town. Just don't fart the entire show. It ruins it for everyone around you. http://www.wilcoworld.net/

Better News

I'm now working again. Well...not quite yet, but I'm hired. I've accepted a job with Design and Image Communications in Denver. With a rich history in branding this firm is a great match for me. I think I will fit in well and be able to contribute/be heard. I went to lunch with a few of my new co-workers and they are great. Laid back people with great attitudes. They say the company is really "flat" so there is no ego pushing the design or office politics. I'm really looking forward to getting my professional life started again. I've had a great time off but I'm ready to get back to work. I'm sure I'll be complaining about not having any time to do anything else shortly. Now on to the apartment hunt...wish me luck.

My New Hobby

So I got a new credit card and I bought a skateboard. I wanted to start skating just for fun again. I did it when i was a kid but haven't done it in years. So with snowboard season over I moving to the concrete. I built the deck to represent myself the best I could. First it's red! Second it's Rob Dyrdek's pro board (Rob's from Kettering, Ohio. and Alien Workshop is from Dayton.) Then I chose these "Colorado" spitfire wheels. Only a couple of shops in Colorado have them. So I feel special. Now I'm riding the Ohio/Colorado deck. Fun stuff. I'll let you know when I hurt myself.

Good News

I got a call back from a firm I really want to work for, Design and Image Communications. http://www.designandimage.com/flash.htm I had a great interview on Monday and I got the call back on Thursday to come in and meet with the owner. It's an interesting situation because the owner is retiring and 3 of the designers are partnering to take over the company. It's a small company, no more than 10 people. So we'll see what happens. Wish me luck.
